How to create a kiddy business transaction code

A transaction code is a short, unique code that customers can enter when paying your kiddy business — instead of searching for your business by name. Think of it like a shortcut. If you run a snack stand at school in Nairobi, for example, a classmate can just type your code and pay you instantly in KES without any back-and-forth.

This guide walks you through creating a transaction code for your kiddy business on KiddyCash — step by step, from scratch.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • A KiddyCash account (your own kiddy account, not a parent’s)
  • A kiddy business already set up under your account. A kiddy business is a mini business profile on KiddyCash that lets you receive payments, track sales, and run campaigns.
  • Completed any required KYB (Know Your Business) steps — these are identity checks KiddyCash uses to verify your business is real and safe to use.

If you haven’t set up a kiddy business yet, do that first, then come back here.

Creating your transaction code

  1. Log in to your KiddyCash account at kiddy.cash and go to your kiddy business dashboard.

  2. Find your business ID. This is the unique number assigned to your business. You can see it in your business profile or in the URL when you’re on your business page — it looks like a short string of letters and numbers.

  3. Go to the transaction code page for your business. You can navigate directly using this link (replace :business_id with your actual business ID): https://kiddy.cash/kiddy-business/:business_id/transaction-code

  4. Tap “Create transaction code.” A form will appear asking for a few details.

  5. Enter a code name. This is just a label so you can recognise the code later — for example, “Snack Stand Counter” or “Saturday Market.” Customers won’t see this name; it’s only for you.

  6. Set the code type. Choose whether the code is for a fixed amount (the same price every time, useful for a product with one price) or an open amount (the customer enters how much they want to pay, useful if you sell different things).

  7. Review and confirm. Check the details, then tap “Save” or “Create.” Your transaction code will be generated immediately.

  8. Share your code. Copy the code and share it with your customers — in a WhatsApp group, on a handwritten sign at your stall, or wherever your buyers will see it. When they enter it in the KiddyCash app, the payment goes straight to your kiddy business wallet.
